People with kids need to know (Bucks)

This is what our DA and judge think of our children and animals. ZERO PUNISHMENT FOR CHILD AND ANIMAL ABUSE.

By Hayden Mitman STAFF WRITER

A 35-year-old Middletown man will be on probation for five years for assaulting a child over a two-year span.
Judge Wallace H. Bateman on Monday sentenced Stephen George Dodson Jr., of Sandybrooke Drive, after Dodson pleaded no contest to the assault charges during a court proceeding at the Bucks County Justice Center in Doylestown. A no contest plea is not an admission of guilt but carries the weight of a guilty plea at the time of sentencing.
According to county prosecutor Michelle Henry, Dodson assaulted the girl at various times between 2005 and 2007, beginning when she was 5. While not providing specifics in court, Henry said the assaults did injure the child.
At a preliminary hearing in October, the girl testified that the assaults began when she was 5 and continued until she was 8 or 9. At that hearing, the child also testified that Dodson killed her kitten by throwing the animal out of an open window. Killing the animal was a way to intimidate the child into not reporting the assaults, authorities said.
On Monday, Dodson submitted a negotiated plea of no contest to charges of simple assault. He was initially charged with rape of a child and aggravated indecent assault, but those charges were dropped.
"The commonwealth made the decision to negotiate for a number of factors, most significantly the victim and the trauma she would endure at trial," said Henry.
In addition to probation, the judge ordered Dodson not to have contact with the victim.

So we see that neither Michelle Henry nor this poor excuse of a judge value our children or animals. Probation just means "don't do that again" thats all. No punishment. Will this little girl ever speak up again? Doubtful now that she knows that no one cares. This sends a powerful message to us all. The excuse is that this little girl would feel trauma at the trial. Thats just total BS. If you read you see that this child has already given testimony and that could have been recorded at the time to save her further trauma. Is that trauma any worse than the trauma of knowing that not one of these people or agencies gave a crap about defending her against this creep. They didn't even bother to try for animal abuse. Shame on you Michelle and Judge useless. Shame on all of us for not demanding the basics of justice for the weakest amongst us. You already put her thru the trauma FOR NOTHING. You will both have to answer to GOD

HERE IS ORIGINAL ARTICLE. HOW CAN YOU PEOPLE DEFEND THIS?

Stephen George Dodson Jr., 34, is accused of raping and sexually assaulting a girl starting when she was five years old in 2005. The most recent incident mentioned in court papers happened in 2007.

Court papers say the girl clearly remembers the assaults by the 34-year-old caregiver.

The girl said the first assault happened when Dodson was assisting her take a bath. He is accused of sexually assaulting her and saying it "made her pure," according to court documents.

Over the next two years, Dodson sexually assaulted the girl several times and even "partially penetrated" her vagina with his penis, police said.

The girl, who is now a teenager, claimed to police that Dodson physically abused her. He would threaten to kill her mother and cat if she told anyone about his actions, court papers say.

Police said the girl told an investigator Dodson once threw a kitten out the window to its death after the girl told her mother that Dodson hit her.

Dodson was arraigned before District Judge Daniel Baranoski and released after he posted on 10 percent of $50,000 bail.

Quick to judge? This whole mess went on for years and he was found guilty. Did he kill a kitten? That's enough right there for me. He has a wife and kids? Sorry for them but doesn't allow for him to do what he did and that he's been found guilty. Wife and kids should have been enough reason for him to be a good man instead of a child rapist. Sassy, sorry for you too. Your quality of life must be very low,

everyone is so quick to judge him without even knowing all the facts. no one realizes that 1 little lie can ruin someones whole life. this girl has changed her story so many times. does anyone even care about what this lie does to his wife and his other children? no \. what ever happen to the saying innocent until proven guilty... Also judge Bateman DIDN"T have to agree to the plea deal and obviously he knew that they wasn't a case there

As a Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas judge, Bateman earns $173,271 annually.
What a total waste of our money. How do these people sleep at night?

Its no big deal to rape a child now.

learn the facts before making assumptions that he raped the little girl. The DA knew they had no case that's why they dropped those charges

Agree Rosies, this is a total joke. What a disgrace. The judge is incompetent and inept for accepting this deal. This scumbag got off scott free. He should have been thrown in Granterford, and let the prisoners have their way with him. The judge needs to be investigated. Five years probation doesn't even cover the cruelty to animals part of this. Poor girl. Too bad Alan Rubenstein was not the judge.

Is this for real, he gets NOTHING, something smells big time, hard to believe any judge would do this, what's going on here? Prosecutor said child was injured from the assaults and he gets nothing, nada. Some deterrant that he won't try this again sometime. Is there anything not put in print or is the judge that despicable.
