Shawnie is a loving and faithful dog but unfortunately cannot be cared for anymore by her mobility challenged owner. For six years she has been the constant companion of her elderly owner who now is not able to walk easily and has had to transfer an assisted living situation where they do not accept animals. Shawnee is very sad and hoping to find another loving owner.

- Shawnie has been a very loved & cared for dog.
- She is a properly registered and papered dog.`
- She was spayed when she was young.
- She has regular spa days at the pet groomer to keep her clean, hair styled and nails trimmed.
- Shawnie has regular vet check ups and has been in great health her entire life.
- She has had all of her vaccinations and shots since birth and is current to date.

Shawnie is special in a few ways:

- She is sight challenged. She is partially blind but is very adaptable to a living space once she has spent some time roaming around getting a feel of obstacles and walls.

- Usually she will not signal to you that she needs a potty break and prefers to use her special dog pads instead of being taken outdoors. She was trained to use these pads because of the owner's mobility issues and once she understands where they are consistently placed she always will use these if she does not get taken outdoors first.

- She doesn't always want to be taken outside so sometimes she needs a little treat to get her leash on her so she can be taken outdoors to her yard.

- She is very protective of her food so once she is fed she should not be bothered until she finishes her meal.

- She does not do stairs so needs to be carried up or down.

- She prefers carpeted floors and has issues walking on wood, tile or linoleum floors.

- She gets along well with other dogs but likes to chase cats around.
