Preschool Teacher seeks part

Hello!

Does your child need a healthy breakfast prepared and a hand to hold as they walk to school? Or perhaps someone to supervise and play with them while you're at work?

My name's Madeline and I'm an enthusiastic, kind and trustworthy assistant preschool teacher who very well may be what you're looking for. I'm a 23 year old college graduate originally from Virginia. I've been living in New York City for over a year now and currently live in Queens. I adore working with children and was recently hired by an esteemed preschool in Astoria where I play with 4 year olds from 12:30- 6:30 pm. My duties as an assistant teacher include constant supervision of all children, lending a hand to the head teacher whenever needed along with implementing ideas for lesson plans, preparing healthy snacks, and simply playing with the preschoolers while subtly enhancing their fine and gross motor skills along with their emotional and physical development. Simply put, it's no easy task, but I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Before I got my start as a teacher, I worked in a childcare program called Teens and Tots for 2 years in high school. What I did during that time was very much similar to what I do now, except I also worked with 3 year olds. Being around this age group made me realize that this was something I was passionate about, something I was good at. I knew I wanted to pursue childcare further.

I have a number of Early Elementary Education credits from college. I would happily go into detail about what I learned, if necessary. I plan on pursuing my Master's in Education at CUNY next fall. My long term goals include becoming a reading specialist in an elementary school.

I am currently looking for part-time babysitting work, preferably in the mornings, but I am also available after 7 pm. I am negotiable regarding how many hours I work each week, but am looking between $15 and $20 an hour for my services. I am no slouch and I have the references to prove it. I studied theatre in school, so I have no problem keeping little ones engaged and excited about what they're learning. I am willing to do light housework, such as cleaning the dishes, vacuuming and making beds. I would also be happy preparing light meals, school lunches and snacks for your child. I am CPR certified. I am also a certified Mandated Reporter for the state of New York.

If you're interested, by all means do not hesitate to e-mail me! I look forward to hearing from.
