Looking for a backing band, R&B/Rock & Roll. Mainly playing originals with great covers. Got gigs Uptown and we are in need of a seasoned band that already plays as a unit that knows staple New Orleans standards, like Hey Pockey Way, Oo Poo Pah Doo, and Mardi Gras music w/out too much of a learning curve. At the same time we need players that have mindsets like sessions players on existing original material. I have a horn section pieced together but if you come with a horn section then we could discuss this. I have a slew of Rock & Roll originals that call for a horn section and I am working with a Mardi Gras Indian Chief.

Here are our needs. Please if you can not meet these needs we ask respectfully that you, please, do not apply. We need players who can & will follow thru with what they say they can or will do to help move this band forward. We are looking for professionals without egos and who are team players and who can problem solve & who will help make this a fun experience thru learning our show in a timely manner. We need musicians w/these qualifications

- will learn existing original material like session players.
-will learn new cover songs like the record then can change it as we move forward
-will practice 1x a week or 2x a week
-have transportation
-cd player to listen/learn music on yer own time
-a musical director (vocalist usually are busy upfront and need piano player or guitarist to lead band)
-cell phone or vmail of some kind
-rehearsal space (but we have access to an all pro rehearsal studio but can move into another space)

As the front persons of this band we are spending money on advertisements in trade mags & radio, & soon to be, television and want to establish a permanent line-up for photos and more.
This is a paid gig with more future gigs to be booked.
