Professional Composition Roofer (Metro)

Professional Composition Roofer with 30yrs experience in all around roofing. 20yrs experience in composition and 10yrs in all other types. I moved to the area from Chicago in hopes of doing well with all the roofing work. I have never lived anywhere in the U.S. where professional Caucasian roofers couldn't find work, but that seems to be the case in this area.

With as many years experience as I have, I've learned there's no comparison between a hand nailed and gun nailed roof. I'm sure companies and salesmen would tell you otherwise. Point and case. Gun nailed roofs are easy to tear off when hand nailed roofs are extremely hard. The one thing people don't realize is roofs are the protection between your home and your family. If I owned a house, I would never let it be gun nailed. If you really stop and think about it, one of the most important and difficult job sites is the roof itself.

Shingles usually last as long as their warranty if they are applied properly. I have always taken pride in my work. I grew up in a family of roofers. I enjoy standing in the home owners yard looking at the job completed.

If you supply material, I will hand nail your roof for $20/square. Basically, you supply the material, I install for $20/square. Tearing the roof off is simple, but a lot of the plywood needs to be re-nailed. A lot of times you see buildings with plywood buckle. They don't take the time to do it right.

The reason people don't hand nail anymore is simply because they don't know how and it takes twice as long to do the job. Hand nail roofs don't blow off. Period. Hope I see you on the job.
