Professional Nanny Share in My Loving Home (TEACHERS) (South Paris)

I am a professional nanny of over 20 years, as well as a mother of two school-aged children, with a degree in Psychology and Child Development. I cared for children in my home for 5 years while living in Ohio, and I love it! Prior to offering care in my own home, I worked as an elite nanny in Falmouth with one family for 3 years and another for 5 years. I have been a nanny in California as well, staying with families for the long-term, up to 6 years. I have been caring for a 16-month-old boy during the school year, and I am searching for one or two more little ones. I offer the personal care of a professional nanny at a fraction of the cost.

I offer experience, knowledge, structure, fun, and lots of loving attention. My home is safe, clean, and full of books and toys for every age group. We have a new playstructure in our back yard and a large finished basement that has a gross-motor playroom, in addition to lots of play space in our family room. The children have a quiet room where they sleep at naptime, in a crib, pack 'n play or comfortable bed.

Our days are filled with exploration, discovery and fun. I believe that each child is special in their own way, and I try to make sure each child has plenty of time to practice developing skills (whether it be walking, running, riding a bike, hopping, fine motor activities, or working on social skills). I expect each child to be kind and polite and they are rewarded with positive reinforcement and fun activities. When they are not being kind, polite or following the rules, they are given reminders and eventually a time-out when appropriate. We also talk about what behavior is expected and most children do well when they can predict desired behavior as well as consequences when that behavior is not fulfilled. Learning of colors, shapes, letters and numbers is worked into our daily activities (for example: on a walk, we will look at the colors of nature, sing our ABC's and count the sticks or leaves). We may spend an hour playing with sticks, if that is what the children are enjoying.

We stay active, going to storytimes, playgroups, on walks, to playgrounds, etc. I drive a newer minivan with enough space for everyone and newer, safe car seats. I also maintain a website, with pictures, my resume, letters of recommendation, and policies. There is also a secure part of the website, that only members can see, where I post many pictures of the children, as well as a weekly blog about how each child has been doing.

My goal is to cater to teachers, offering care on your schedule. My husband is a teacher at the local high school, and the child I currently care for's parents are both teachers. I am flexible and understanding of your needs.
