Reptile Rehab

My fiance and I have been rehabilitating animals for nearly three years, but after a recent rescue we took in that a friend had been given as a pet, we decided to post an ad so that more people would know that we are available to assist them.

We both each have several years of experience keeping a large variety of animals, including Ball Pythons, California Kingsnakes, Corn Snakes, Carpet Pythons, Reticulated Pythons, Burmese Pythons, Asain Water Monitors, Tree Monitors, Savannah Monitors, most Varanids and Iguanids, Argentine and Columbian Tegus, Fat Tail and Leopard Geckos, Bearded Dragons, ect. We have done a great deal of research on all of the animals in our care, and are very familiar with their needs.

Because we have taken in so many rescues, we are also very familiar with the typical issues that these animals have: respiratory infections, bacterial infections, internal parasites, impaction, stuck sheds, along with many other things. We have medication on hand for them, and a vet on call, so that we can work on ensuring that any animals in our care can be returned to full health as soon as possible, if possible.

We are more than happy to take in an animal that you can no longer keep due to it's aggression, health problems, or if something has happened to ensure that you cannot care for your pet any longer (perhaps you have health problems, lost a job or home, ect.). If you would like us to take in one of your animals, we do need you to as thoroughly as possible explain in your email what your situation is, so that we can help you to the best of our abilities, and when we either have you meet us so that we can take the animal, or when we come to pick it up, we do ask that you send at least some of the animal's supplies with, so that we will always have something on hand for every rescue that we take in. When emailing us, please also include a detailed description of your animal - age, sex (if known), health problems, what kind of set up it was in, eating habits, general concerns, ect. We will be able to help your animal much easier if we know what exactly we're dealing with right away.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are just bored of your animal, we are not likely to take in your pet - however, we can do our very best to help you sell your animal to a good home by posting ads for you, asking around throughout the reptile community, ect. Please let us know if you are emailing us because you no longer want your pet, rather than being unable to keep your reptile. We may still take it in, but it depends on how many rescues we have at one time. We are more than likely just going to help you sell them - which will be good for you, as you will get some money, or something to trade. We really only want to take in animals that we could help in some way.

If you need any assistance in keeping your animals/have some questions about the animal that you are keeping, you can also email us, and we will respond as soon as possible to try to assist you.

Some of the animals that we rehabilitate, so long as they have no permanent conditions that could cause them to have issues in the future, will be adopted out to new homes, so that we can continue to have room for new rescues. If you are within a few hours drive of us, we like to do home visits, and we require that anyone looking to adopt one of the rescues have the proper enclosure and equipment on hand before one of the animals is placed in the home, and we need to make sure that you are fully prepared and knowledgeable about the animal you are interested in. If you would be interested in taking in a now healthy rescue, you can email me and I will let you know if we have any animals that can be adopted out at this time.

We will very happily accept donations of reptile supplies - light fixtures, bulbs, heating pads, water dishes, enclosures, really anything can be of use. If you'd like to donate money, we would also greatly appreciate that, as we are paying out of our own pockets to try to heal the animals that we pick up or that are sent to us, which is incredibly expensive.

Thank.
