We have been working on this for some time and are looking for help for one needy kitty (the black and white kitty0.
There has been a group of kitties near a relative's house. They do the best they can, but it has not been easy for them. At one point, someone helped by getting most of them neutered by All About Animals as well as taking some of them into their own homes. That worked for a bit, but there are still some that need help.
We took one of them - she was a feral, and is now a total house pet. I didn't think it could really be done, but we worked with her, along with a trusting kitten, and she is now a real charmer.
BUT WE ARE WORRIED ABOUT ONE OF THE KITTIES. She is a black and white kitty. She has white paws and a half-moustach on her face. She limps obviously due to an injury to her rear leg. You can see her walk on three legs, but we can't catch a good glimpse to see what actually happened to her back leg. She may be tucking it under herself. She had four kittens. We have found homes for three of them (three real charmers, too) and now working on the fourth.
Yesterday, Mamma cat peeked from under the garage door at my relative's house. You could see she wants help. I am pretty certain she would warm up like the other cat we have in our house.
CAN YOU HELP?? I need a real rescue league or someone associated with one so this kitty gets the caring she needs. You can see she is going to be a nice cat. I would also be willing to work with a high school student if they might want to find a way to work out community service through their school. It seems like there would be some hours you could get for this and a great summer project; but you might need to be willing to either keep the kitty, or work with one of the leagues if you want to have them find a home for her. You would also need to get ahold of someone from your school to confirm they will work with you to allow you to do this for your hours. This takes some time and finessing, but then they come around. I have written down what I did to get the other kitty to warm up and it is quite interesting, as well as a bit of a psychological experiment, so not only animal-lovers but psychology students would like this.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN HER KITTEN: This kitten is about 7 weeks old. It is a tuxedo meaning it is black with white paws and bib. The other three have homes and are good little house pets.
The picture of the calico cat in this post is OF THE CAT WE TOOK INTO OUR HOUSE WHO WAS FERAL AND NOW IS A HOUSE PET. We will post a pic of the Mom cat when we are able to get one. I hope you can help or know someone who can.
I will need documentation that you are a rescue, or vet references. I don't mind contact through email, but don't expect me to only communicate via email. Phone is nice.
Pics are: A pic of the calico cat who we now have in our house, who was a feral from the same group; a cat who looks like the Mom cat who needs help (dot on lip); pics of tuxedo kittens who look a little like the kitten who is with Mom cat.
