Research Opportunity for Children and Adolescents (Ann Arbor)
The University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry is looking for research participants
between the ages of 8 and 18 years for a study on behavioral and emotional challenges in youth.
This study involves 3 separate visits compensating up to $258 for child/adolescent participants
and up to $20 for the parents of participants.
You may be eligible if you meet the following criteria:
- Between the ages of 8 and 18
- Caucasian*
- Do not have a substance abuse history or intellectual disability
- Do not have any non-removable metal in or on your body (e.g. braces, permanent
retainer, pacemaker)
- Are not currently suicidal
- If you are under the age of 18, you must live with at least one biological parent
- Must have reliable transportation for travel to appointments (in Detroit and Ann Arbor)
If you are eligible, you will participate in a structured interview, a small saliva collection and/or
a small blood sample, an fMRI scan, and decision-making task testing. A parent is required to
participate. We are seeking participants with behavioral and emotional challenges, as well as
healthy volunteers.
