SAS APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER -- ELIZABETH CITY, NC 27906
Pinnacle Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Applications Developer as an addition to our elite SAS Consulting Team for one of our Clients - a prominent US Government Agency, located in Elizabeth City, NC for a 6-month contract, full-time, on-site with possible remote model available.
DESCRIPTION:
The Software Engineer supports the USCG Engineered System Support Services (ESSS) for Asset Logistics Management Information System (ALMIS) at the USCG Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) in Elizabeth City, NC.
The Software Engineer researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participates in the design and coding of software products.
2. Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
3. Prepares comprehensive test plans and conducts tests.
4. Analyzes test results and recommends moderately complex corrections to more experienced software engineers.
5. Designs and develops code, compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
6. Advises hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
7. Writes, updates and maintains technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
8. Troubleshoots problems and provides customer support for software operating system and application issues.
9. Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
10. Consults with project teams, data architects and end users to identify and define application and database requirements.
11. Instructs, assigns, directs, and verifies the work of other software developers on development team.
12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
13. Participates in special projects as required.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
REQUIRED SKILLSETS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1-4 years of related software development experience.
• Experience with SAS 9 Business Analytics, ASP, Visual Basic, HTML, SQL, LINUX/UNIX, Java/JavaScript, C#, and .NET. is required.
• Familiarity with data analysis, forecasting, and working with COGNOS is desired.
• Familiarity with the USCG ALMIS/ACMS/EAL systems and INGRES database application desired.
• Security Clearance: must be able to attain a Public Trust
