RUFUS IS A SENIOR WHO NEEDS AN EXCEPTIONAL ADOPTER AND HOME THAT WILL HONOR HIS ALOOF AND QUIRKY WAYS. Rufus is a handsome, healthy boy with potty manners who loves walks. He likes to lay by your feet but does not like to be touched much. He does choose times when he will jump on your knees and want a head scratch. He will occasionally scent mark you with his head much like a cat does. He can coexist with other dogs but generally prefers not to engage with them. Rufus needs a home that will allow him to coexist with his human at a distance and will accept that he is aloof. He will warn with a growl if you want to engage with him and he doesn't which is more of the time than not. He lost his home when his family lost theirs. He must have a home, not an apartment, because he howls when anxious. The howling reduces when he feels settled and safe but is part of who he is and isn't going to change. Rufus deserves a place to live out his golden years with no expectations. He needs a home that will love him as is. Rufus needs a home for someone willing to take on the less adoptable dog.
