Slide Guitar Lessons RootsRockJamCountry. Build Your Bag of Tricks (East Bay)

Hey there... Slide Guitar is a a fun thing to add to your bag of tricks... a little knowledge can go a long way. Playing slide is a very autonomous skill set in the grand scheme of guitar playing.... It's also kinda hard to teach one's self, even as an advanced player. There are hand positions that slide requires w/ no correlate in freted playing on both the slide and picking side. No matter what level slide player you are (square one to been around the block), we can find some great slide licks for you to work on. A few lessons can save a lot of hours of grinding it out yourself.
I'm a full-time guitar teacher and working musician. We'll work on the fundamentals of bottleneck slide and work on your favorite tunes, or I can suggest material. Either way, you should come away from it being able to come up with your own riffs and ideas. (bottleneck = regular slide guitar, as opposed to lap style ("dobro") or pedal steel.) Acoustic and Electric.... Blues, Country, Rock, Bluegrass, Jam... you name it. Some favorites of mine are Kelly Joe Phelps, the Allmans, Roy Rogers, Son House, Ben Harper, Robert Johnson, John Mooney, Bukka White, Skip James, Black Ace Turner.... Flexible hours and fees. Please write, text or call for.
