Vintage Ampex 601 Reel to Reel tape recorder. Classic 50s - 60s portable machine. Many classic hits from famous artists were recorded on these machines . Mono Version. 7 inch reels. Machine is in working condition. Powers Up. Transport works in Play, Record, Fast Forward, and Reverse . Capstan and Tension roller are in great condition wit no flat spots. Rubber reel holders are perfect. Have not recorded on this machine. Meter works in playback. Very Clean machine complete with original Samsonite case. Case missing cover part of one latch but still latches tight. Electronic Schematic diagram included plus one take up reel. Original power cord not available but standard 2 prong plugs will work fine. Has 1/4 inch outputs and inputs plus XLR balanced line 600 ohm microphone input. These machines were "flat" from 30 to 15000 Hz. This particular machine would be a great candidate for a full restore.
