I'm a recently retired special education teacher with a masters degree in early childhood development. I have raised two children who are now well educated capable adults. My personal library contains hundreds of children's books, children's songs and educational materials, plus boxes full of craft items. My usual rate is $12 per hour for one or two children. There may be a slight extra charge for larger families. If you need someone for a long day (for example, if you are attending a wedding & reception) or need someone for overnight or a weekend we can discuss appropriate compensation (for example $12 per hour for the first six hours and less per hour for the additional hours). I live in Greenfield, near the freeway, and I will provide my own transportation to your home. There is a three hour minimum. During the school year I am available evenings and on the weekends.

I also provide experienced care for differently-abled children, teens and adults, my base rate for special needs care is $15. per hour for a child with mild special education needs or care for the elderly. The charge may be higher depending on the responsibilities involved for that child/teen/adult and other children in the home.

Please feel free to forward this to all of those "friends" and neighbors who frequently call you at the last minute for "emergency" child care. It would appear that they need to book a more reliable baby sitter.
