QR Code Link to This Post Here are some proven tips if your cat is lost to try to help them find home:
- put their litter box outside, they can catch its scent
- put out some tuna
- if your cat is typically indoors or new to area, go outside when it's quiet and call them and listen carefully for them, their instincts are to hide quietly not far from where they escaped. They probably won't come running, you will have to listen well and go to them (this WORKS!)
- post an ad on Nextdoor.com
- file a lost cat report with your local animal shelter
- make a flier with a picture and knock on neighbors doors and hang around your neighborhood
- make sure if they have a microchip that the info is up to date, if you aren't sure and can't find the chip info, call the vet that put in the chip and they can give you the chip number and name of the chip company to contact.
most of all - don't give up! They need your help!
When you find them:
- put a collar on them with a tag (even if indoors only so if they slip out it's extra help if found
- get them microchipped if they aren't already
