Tuba, Clarinets and Mallet Percussion Wanted for Evanston Concert Band (Evanston)

The Ridgeville Band of Evanston is a vibrant community concert band of about 45 members, and would like to grow to 50+ members in the next year. We currently perform 8 or more concerts a season and we have a busy summer concert schedule. If you play Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Sax, Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Baritone or Euphonium, Tuba, Percussion, or String Bass, you are welcome to come join us.

The band rehearses on Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m at the David Wood Field House in Kamen Park East, at the intersection of South Boulevard and Barton Avenue (On South Blvd just west of Ridge Avenue).

Our current repertoire includes a lively balance of opera overtures, circus screamers, spectacular marches, musical medleys, and other dazzling concert band classics.

The Ridgeville Band is conducted by Monty Adams, former Principal Flutist with the USAF Band in Washington D.C. under the direction of Col. Arnold Gabriel. Monty studied conducting with the eminent Northwestern University band director, John Paynter, and has brought new vitality and musicianship to the band since 2010.

This season's repertoire includes:
Overture to Nabucco by Verdi
A wide selection of J. P. Sousa - Marches, Waltzes and other novelty pieces
Gordon Jacobs Original Suite for Band
Music of Noel Coward
Nessun Dorma from Puccini's Turandot

We hope you will sit in with the band and give it a try.
