Update to URGENT URGENT URGENT HELP NEEDED (South Nashville)

Update: First of all, let me express my gratitude to the multitudes of people that have responded to this ad and either adopted an animal or helped us find homes. There are not words to be able to adequately convey what this help has meant to my family. As of now, all the dogs are spoken for except for the pittie and the yorkie type mix (more info about them is below). We've also been able to find homes for all of the pregnant and/or nursing mama cats and their tiny kittens. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! We still have a way to go as we have numerous cats/older kittens still left that will need homes NO LATER than Sunday. We will be bring what animals we have left to an adoption event on Sunday afternoon and I will gladly provide the event details to anyone who would like to contact me for additional information. ALSO, a wonderful person working with us has graciously offered to spay and neuter any unaltered animal that is adopted through us. We will provide that information to potential adopters at the time of adoption. As a protective measure we have been asking potential adopters for vet references. If you do not currently have pets and therefore don't have a vet reference a personal reference or two would fine. We are trying hard to be very careful as to who gets these wonderful animals and will continue to do the necessary leg work to make sure they go to suitable forever homes. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you or someone you know is looking for an amazingly sweet, socialized and soon to be spayed/neutered cat or older kitten. Rescues are also welcome as we have such a limited time to make sure these awesome animals find the home they deserve.

Thank you again to anyone who has reached out and offered advice, support, encouragement or a home. We are so forever grateful.

If you have reached out to us previously and have not received a response, we apologize sincerely. This has been a gut wrenchingly difficult process and some contacts might have been lost as we've sorted through all of the responses and or requests for additional info. If you're still interested, please reach out to us again and we will make sure we get back to you.

My family and I are in dire need of help. We've become a semi involuntary animal shelter recently. We've taken in stray dogs and cats in our neighborhood and have had numerous friends ask us to care of their animals on a temp basis that has magically become permanent. I was laid off from my job in December and we are now overwhelmed and getting to the point where we can no longer care of the number of animals we have taken in. The financial and emotional cost is enormous. We have pregnant stray cats and cats that have just given birth in addition to cats of various ages and dogs too. We've also recently been cited by our landlord for having too many animals and while he is being gracious and allowing us to rectify the situation we will lose our home if we can't find homes for these sweet animals. ALL of the animals are good with kids, other animals and people.

We currently have one pregnant tortoise shell cat that is due any day. We also have a beautiful tabby and white cat with 10 day old babies and we have two other mama cats with approx. 4 to 5 week old babies. We also have various other cats of all ages and all colors. Most are long hair. Tabbies, sold white, orange, black... Anything you can imagine we probably have. We've got to find homes for them ASAP or we are going to be forced to move from our home.

We also have the following dogs. 1. Beautiful female pitbull. She's gorgeous as well and loves anyone and everyone. 2. A sweet yorkie* mix. He's a funny boy. Cute and silly and loves a lap to cuddle on. He's on the big side but he's cute such a love bug. I know I've said that a million times but I want so much for people to understand how much we love these animals. It feels almost cruel that I lost my job and now things are piling up so much and things can't keep going but I have to do what is best for these animals. I want to avoid shelters if I can but my time is very limited by my landlord.

I'm not asking for an adoption fee for any of these animals but PLEASE don't be a flipper. I can't stand the thought of parting with these animals and having them handed off to people who wont care for them. I want them to have homes forever and not cycled and dropped off like the people that caused them to end up in our care.

Please contact me via email and I will gladly provide pictures if you're interested in a specific animal. Also, if you're a no-kill shelter or rescue and are willing to help PLEASE contact me. The sheer number of animals alone is going to make it difficult to find homes for them all so if some can go in groups to a rescue or something that would help tremendously.

Please help me and my family do right by these animals. They all deserve wonderful loving homes.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

*People have expressed interest in the yorkie mix until they get details and then they disappear. Jack, our yorkie mix, is more like a yorkie on steroids. He's not a tiny thing, he's about 20 pounds but a yorkie mix is the only thing I know to describe him. He has the coloring of a yorkie but he's built like a small tank and he doesn't have super long baby fine hair like a yorkie. He's hard to describe physically but he is an amazing little athletic dog. He can go on jogs and runs with a person and loves to run and play. He's smart and energetic and would make a GREAT watch dog. He keeps getting overlooked because he isn't your typical little dog but he's been my buddy for several years and parting with him will be harder than anyone else. He's that special. I hate that people can't see past that stocky little body and adore him for the fun loving little guy that he.
