US Constitution

28 USD

Through the hot, muggy summer of 1787, 55 delegates from the 13 newly formed United States gathered in Philadelphia to determine how to amend the Articles of Confederation to form a more viable and united government. Their task included maintaining the greatest possible degree of individual liberty while forming a national government capable of defending the nation and guiding its people towards prosperity.

The Maui Liberty network proudly presents an opportunity to learn the thought processes of those who framed our Constitution. Join us as we review the writings of James Madison, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Dr. Benjamin Rush, Charles Pinckney, and many other names you may have heard but have long forgotten as they share their ideas and philosophies of liberty. We will gather at 6:00 PM in the chapel at Kalama Heights, 101 Kanani Road in Kihei on the second Wednesday and fourth Tuesday of each month beginning February 11th, 2015 to discover the 28 principles of freedom contained in the US Constitution as described in The 5000 Year Leap: A Miracle That Changed the World. Through viewing professionally produced DVDs of an actual classroom and lively discussion before and after, gain a new appreciation of the document that launched the greatest nation ever seen on the face of the earth. Textbooks will be available for a donation of $15.00 but there is no fee for.
