USS Constitution ( Old Ironside) Hull Wood and Plaque (Chelmsford)

1794 BLOCK OF WOOD FROM THE HULL OF "OLD IRONSIDES" USS CONSTITUTION THAT FOUGHT IN THE WAR OF 1812 Measures about 6.5" X 3" X 1.5" . The block was cut from the hull in 1975 when the ship was renovated again. It has a brass plate nailed to the wood saying "Oak from USS constitution "Old Ironside" 1975. With 2 sides of the block having the original rough surface and the other sides slightly smooth from cutting in 1975. In VG+ condition.

The USS Constitution named by Pres. George Washington defeated the British warship "Guerriere" off Nova Scotia during the War of 1812. Was considered the fastest and most well armed frigate during the War of 1812.
