QR Code Link to This Post It is with great sadness that I read the pets section of Craigslist. Seems like every other post is for puppies, usually at a very high price. All the while people are breeding like crazy, wonderful sentient animals are being put to death. Shelters are over-flowing. I have been active for quite some time in flagging such ads. Now I wonder if it is for all in vain. Supply and demand. All of these death row animals were once someone's darling little puppy. Now they have been discarded like an old toy. If people would only consider a pet as on par with having a child. Alas, I no longer hold out much hope. Our society, with it's need for instant gratification, has lost sight of the true importance of life. The breeders would not exist without the buyers. This indicator does not bode well for the future of mankind. We are rapidly destroying this planet, and with it the future of our children. I used to think that one person could make a difference, and yes one can, but only on a very small scale. I fear that now the problem has gotten so bad that we are over the brink. Hang on to your furry friends, love them like there is no tomorrow, as most certainly that is the direction we are headed.
