QR Code Link to This Post Hi there! My name is Zia, and I'm a 9-year-old lab/heeler mix girl. I am in search for my true forever home with a person or family who won't give up on me.
Full disclosure first--I can be a bit of an escape artist. I've been known to jump fences, and bolt through open doors. I was returned from what I thought was my forever home because of these tendencies. The Pet Connection will help my adopter with training on this to prevent me from doing these things, but it would take someone willing to put in a lot of work. Alternatively, I need a home that understands these tendencies, and doesn't provide me with the opportunity to do these things. For example, a tether would be one solution for my fence jumping tendencies, or just walking me on the leash instead of putting my outside would be another. It's really easy to find alternatives that will set me up to succeed, and The Pet Connection will work with you every step of the way. In the past, I have learned how to sit/stay at the door--it just takes a lot of consistency with me and someone willing to help me. I really have great listening ears--just look at them--don't they look like great listening ears?!?!
Now that we have that out of the way, let me tell you more about myself. I love other dogs and I love people! They say I'm a very smart girl. I'm crate trained, housebroken, and I knows basic commands. Oh, and I really like to ride in the car. My current foster mom says I'm great and she's even been taking me to work! It's so much fun going to work with her, and it is so good for me to have exposure to a bunch of new things.
I'm not a fan of cats--I think they are stinky! I'd also probably be the best with older kids because I tend to be barky with the little kids. I mean no harm, but I don't want to scare them!
