Our beautiful home is situated on 26.32 acres in Pearl River County, MS, a one hour drive from New Orleans and 30 minutes from the Gulf Coast. (Insurance is much lower than Hancock County as we are not a coastal county.) We have maple hardwood floors in all rooms except the kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms, which have linoleum tile. All of the trim in the house is whitewashed pine which very nicely compliments the maple floors. All of the cabinets in the kitchen, mudroom, laundry room, and bathrooms are maple with a whitewash finish. The office is also maple but with a natural finish. The kitchen has granite countertops. The home is raised off of the ground, not on a concrete slab. The exterior is of both brick and hardie board, making for easy upkeep.
There are 3,369 sq. ft under beam with 2,380 sq. ft on the first floor and an additional 300 sq. ft family room on the second floor. A large attic is easily accessed from the family room upstairs. Separate a/c units service the upstairs and the main floor. There are 689 sq. ft of porch on the north and east side, with the front door facing east. This home was designed with strict adherence to Vastu and Feng Shui principles, thus there is a tangible sense of peacefulness and harmony throughout the home and surrounding area. Because of the location and wooded buffer we enjoy complete privacy. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet. Two of the bedrooms have window seats, as does the family room upstairs. The kitchen is simply a joy to be in, with its beautiful whitewashed maple cabinets and large windows allowing for great lighting and views.
